Hiding, what a glorious word... Yet oh so tricky when your stuck in a mucky, dirty old prison with very few rooms to hide in. The boiler room seemed to be a favourite place for a prisoner to hide away from the world for a while, half the time it was because they where going through some sort of breakdown. Motoke wasn't going through a breakdown but hiding seemed to be the best course of action these days because she had managed to piss a number of people off, prison staff included. Although she had been hiding for a reason she didn't mean she had to like it all that much. She was more of a tough it out kind of girl but when 3 big ass black guys wanted your ass for their snack it wasn't really a good idea to try a bit of rough and tumble when you knew damn well you where gonna get pummelled in to the floor like a dog chasing a cat.

She let out a scowl before kicking an old shelf rack that was screwed on to the ageing wall. What she hasn't realised at the time was that there was an old style metal bucket on one of the still living horizontal panels of the shelf, which obviously fell off as soon as she kicked the thing. It must have made the loudest noise the little room had ever heard and even some dust fell from the ceiling, shows how much the room was used. She cursed blind at the fact that she had hurt her foot kicking the metal and the fact her cover was probably just blown to pieces at the fact she just made it should like there was a war tank in the room with her and it had just set off a rocket.

She stomped her foot on the ground, scowling once again as she looked at the bucket which had only just stopped rolling around on the floor "Well fucking brilliant!" she cursed, obviously pissed off "Aren't you a real pain in my ass!" and now she was talking to a metal bucket like a mad woman... She was guessing somebody was going to come in and take a look around so she tried to hide in one corner, although there wasn't much of a place to hide at all she hoped whoever came in had the worst eyesight in the world... Maybe then she would get away with it.

Nathaniel was on break.

Break meant that when he heard over his walkie-talkie that one of the prisoners had escaped from one of the other guards, he wasn’t the one going to look for them. Nope. He had a brown paper bag covered with grease spots in his hands that had just been delivered to him from the place down the street and he was walking to the staff room in order to down the burger and fries.

But damn him if he hadn’t heard the noise from the boiler room. He stopped by the door, looking at it curiously as he heard cursing coming from inside. His eyes moved down the hallway back to the boiler room door before he gave a frustrated sigh. As much as he didn’t want to, he figured he might as well check it out.

Opening the door he peeked inside. “Anyone in here?” he asked. He listened. Nothing. Well that was fine. Now he’d just be on his way and-

Just as he was about to leave he heard a young woman cursing. With a roll of his eyes he walked down the steps two at a time until he reached the end. Reaching for his pocket he took out his flashlight and shined it over into her eyes.

“You shouldn’t be down here,” he told her. “Come on. Let’s go, doll. I’m on lunch and I wanna eat before it gets cold.”

Motoke wanted to repeatedly hit her head against the cold wall that was behind her, why did she even think that kicking that stupid shelf would be a good idea? Now her foot was throbbing and she was about go be caught by a most likely less than reasonable guard that would just leave her be. You never did get any of the slackers anymore, these lot where all goody goody two shoes that would lick arse if it got them a promotion.

She had failed to hear him from the top of the room, it was suprising for her to have not heard but in her rag she must have forgotten all about the essence of quiet when hiding from people. Not like the guard should even care, it wasn't like she had a drill to dig herself under and out or she would have done that long ago and with glee. Her fists clenched when she heard the obvious footsteps decending to the boiler room itself, there was now a 100% chance she was utterly screwed over. She hissed and scowled almost animal like when he began to shine the bright light from his torch toward her eyes, the even worse part was that it was a darkened room. She lifted one arm to protect her eyes from the light where as the other stayed clenched by her side "Didn't yah mama ever teach yah not to shine bright lights in people's eyes!" She spat at him "Put the thing down dumbass you got me already!" it was harder for Motoke to not use an insult right now than it was for her to bellow out exactly what she thought.

She couldn't stop a shiver going through her body when he mentioned dolls, he could have called her anything but a doll, she really wasn't a doll person "Totally not a doll... Anything but a doll, dolls are creepy." she only realised afterward that she had been muttering on to herself about dolls. She decided to shut up before she made a retard out of herself in front of the man that was still trying to get her out of the boiler room. Which wasn't happening soon unless he threw her over his shoulder "Im not moving." she stated blandly "Go eat whatever's in that bag and forget you ever saw me." she didn't know if trying to get him to move on like he saw nothing would work or not, hopefully his stomach would get the better of him.

Apparently she didn’t like the light being thrown in her eyes. Unable to help himself, he lingered it there a little longer with a slight smirk and waved it around before he decided he’d had enough fun and clicked it off, tucking it away back in his pocket.

“I’m the dumbass?” he asked in amusement. “You’re the one who got caught,” he replied nonchalantly as he opened up his bag and pulled out a fry. He popped it into his mouth and savored the taste. Still warm. Still good. Man, did he love those seasonings they put on them!

Well it seemed like she had a problem with him calling her doll, too. Nathaniel shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly as he closed his bag back tightly to keep all the warmth inside. “Okay, I won’t call you doll,” he told her before adding with a mischievous grin, “I’ll call you Barbie.”

Holding out his hands he motioned for her to come over to him. It didn’t seem like she was going to go easily though. He was hoping he wouldn’t have to do things the hard way.

“I’m not even getting paid for this right now,” he muttered as he approached her. “Well you wanted it your way,” he said. Reaching his arm around her waist he lifted her up into the air, hoisting her over his shoulder as if she were nothing more than a sack of potatoes he were carrying around. As he climbed the steps and exited the boiler room, one arm holding the girl on his shoulder while the other secured his lunch, he whistled.

Every so often as he passed others in the hallway he’d give them a nod, jutting his chin with a smug expression. “Hey. How ya doin’?” he asked them, ignoring the fact that he had the girl on his shoulder.

Obviously this guard was a bit of a funny guy, keepin that bloody torch shining in her eyes even after she had told him to knock it off. Once he did put the light away he blinked a fa times trying to once again get use to the light in the room, all of a sudden it looked a hell of a lot darker and she was all up for blaming him shining lights in people's eyes like some five year old who was given a laser pen for the first time and found the people's reactions funny when they blinded them with the light. She snorted at him, folding her arms across her chest and leaning more against the wall, a little more relaxed then before "Yes. You, dumbass." she then pointed to herself "I don't think that I look all that caught. Do you?" she yipped sarcastically.

She didn't know if he was meaning to taunt her using his food, he did realise that she hasn't had something decent to eat since she got here, not like she could ring the takeaway and say she was in Cell 'C107' yes, she'd get a good old strange reply then now wouldn't she. There where ideas floating around her head to steal his food while he was preoccupied with something, she kept those ideas in the back of her mind maybe for later.

Ohhhhhh she wanted to hit him now, she had know than there was going to be some sort of sarcastic reply after he said he wouldnt call her doll but that was probably the worst one he could have come up with. She was in no way shape or form 'Barbie' and she never bloody would be! "Why don't I call you a dead man?!" she scowled although her tempter didn't last long and she was laughing at his attempts to get her to come to him like a dog on a leash, not likely. As he held out his hand for her she simply stuck up the almighty middle finger right in his direction, that's for thinking this would be as easy as that. He should have left when he had the chance to.

"Ugh, neither am I?" He wasn't getting paid? She NEVER got paid so he could shove that comment right up his arse, by the time she had realised he was right in front of her throwing her over his shoulder, as soon as it had happened she began to swear and curse at him like any woman would if a guy threw you over there shoulder like a bloody carpet roll "Put me down you shitbag!" she snarled as she tried kicking him although failed quite a bit. She decided that trying to punch him in the back would be a better option so turned to that option while still mouthing up a storm in his direction "God so help me, Im going to right hook you so hard when you put me down!" She threatened, she knew she had a decent swing and after this he was going to get the follow through of it.

Her punches did nothing for him as he walked down the hallway. Yeah, she may have been making a scene, but she was really only making a scene for herself. It didn’t really phase him any. This was all a part of the job. It wasn’t the first time he’d been hit or beaten by someone. While he had to admit the girl packed a hard punch for her size, he’d been hit by people far bigger and stronger than she was. His skin was so thick that he was practically immune to it by now.

“If I had a nickel for every time someone called me that,” he commented with a laugh. He’d been called so many names from different women that that was also something he was used to. “Keep trying, Barbie,” he told her. “I’m sure you’ll find something to grate my nerves eventually.” Now he was just being smug. In a place where everyone thought they were the biggest, baddest, toughest people around, he had to learn how to deal with them. And the best way to do that was just to not give a damn at all.

Stopping in the hallway he leaned over slightly to set his bag down on the floor. Taking a look around in both directions, swinging the girl over his shoulder around as he went, he reached into his pocket to take out his flask. Popping it open skillfully with his one hand she took a swig from it before closing it again and sliding it back in his pocket with a contented sigh. “Much better,” he grinned. Nathaniel shifted her weight slightly to get a better grip on her. With all her kicking and screaming he didn’t want to accidentally drop her--he might get in trouble if he did that and she got hurt.

“We’re almost back to your cell,” he told her as he crouched down to get his food again. “Then I’ll set you down. See, if you’d have just been a little more agreeable back there none of this would have had to happen.”

Motoke had started to calm down after realising that she was not going toget anywhere by kicking and screaming at him like a mad woman that wasn't drugged up properly. She continued, however, to scowl at him, she would probably only stop when she had been put down from his shoulder. Then again she had been quite impressed by the fact that he was able to lift her so easily, sure she wasn't the heaviest person in the world but it wasn't like the man was lifting a baby, no he had been far too rough for holding a baby, obviously she seemed less important and breakable for that matter.

The moment he called her barbie again she hit him with her elbow although aimed for the gap next to his shoulder bone, that would have been painful if she got it in the right place, something she learned from her boxing training. She was also beginning to save up some insults for him, she would probably need a few of them in a little while anyway.

She wondered what in the hell he was doing when he seemed to be bending down like he had casually just dropped his keys, she lifted and turned her head so she was able to see what in the hell he was doing, when she realised he was drinking her eyes went wide, damn that was the thing she missed since she came to prison and got god damn locked up in here for 5 years. Well now she really was going to have to say something "Great! Now I've been thrown over the shoulder of an asshole AND an alcoholic!" she said the last word as loudly as possible just to make a point out of it.

She began laughing almost hysterically when he mentioned almost being back at her cell "Oh great!" she said with fake enthusiasm "I'd rather be back in that boiler room. Least it didn't smell like shit!" as soon as she was done ranting she pouted and crossed her arms against his back.

“Aw, that’s not nice,” Nathan said though his voice was anything but offended. Yeah, he liked the drink. While he tried to keep it from his superiors, he was pretty sure most of his colleagues knew about his habit. If they didn’t then they needed to be shot because he was pretty sure it was kind of obvious with the way he was always taking the thing out of his pocket.

His shoulder was aching where she’d hit him, but he proceeded onward until he reached her cellblock. “If it smell like shit then clean it up,” he told her. “It’s not supposed to be a picnic in here. Damn, Barbie. This rate you’re never going to get out of here, you know that?”

Motioning over to one of his co-workers he motioned towards her cell. His hands were a bit full at the moment, so he couldn’t exactly use the keys to unlock it as well. Once the door was open he went and threw her down on the bed, smirking lightly with a suggestive raise of his eyebrows before he turned to leave.

Shutting the door, he locked it. “I hope you know you that you pretty much just screwed your privileges of getting alone time,“ he said. Taking the keys out he tossed them in the air and caught them. “No one is going to trust you on your own after that little stunt. Not for a while at least.”

"If I was nice I wouldn't be here genius!" She snapped back at him, what did he think that she was going to compliment him on the fact that he was drinking on the job and that she wanted some of whatever was in that bottle, not that she would ever tell him that. She didn't want to look like a weak little bitch after all, she had to act tough to make sure she survived this hell hole, or at least that was what she was taught to do before she actually ended up in the place, too bad her chosen friends knew far too much about prisons then most people did. That's what you got for hanging around with that type of crowd, not that Motoke would change that, she didn't care if people judged her, the only thing that mattered was her own opinion of herself and she didn't need anybody else. Besides, getting close to people only get you stabbed in the back so whats the use anyway?

She could tell his shoulder was aching, it would be with her elbow slammed in to it, her elbow was also hurting although considerably less than his shoulder would be, seemed she did still have the little blonde boxer in her, she doubted she'd ever forget all of what she got taught, a lot of it where life lessons to her. She rolled her eyes when he mentioned cleaning, yeah and she was totally the perfect house wife, obedient and tidy... ffft, fat chance of that "Screw you it is clean! It's you're god damn prison that's the problem! Things falling apart from the inside!" she scowled at him "Besides, I haven't got anything waiting for me when I get out anyway." now that was a truth, not like anybody even remembered her out there, or if they did they didn't give a shit because she never was important to anybody in the first place.

Damn, they where back at her cell already. She really didn't want to get locked up in that tiny space again, it sent her crazy. The same four walls over and over again. Once he threw her on to what they called a 'bed' in prison it took her a few seconds to get her sight back, all the blood had gone to her head making her feel kind of weird, during this time he was looking at her like he was gonna get randy. She raised her eyebrows right back, knowing full well two could play that game. She was slightly too slow when he started turning and locking the door, she jumped up as quickly as possible but was too late and instead kicked the door repeatedly, around 3 or 4 times you could hear the sounds of clunking metal.

She began laughing almost hysterically when he mentioned her having time on her own, like she had that anyway? There was always some dumbass or pervert staring at her "That ship sailed long ago, 'fraid yah missed it, petal." she retorted sarcastically. She paced a few times in the cell, wondering if he was going to do one or stay there and taunt her from the safety of behind the door "Like anybody trusted me anyway!" she shouted "Don't worry I'm already fucking used to it!" she added with a snarl as she continued her pacing.

It wasn’t nice to provoke the prisoners. Nathaniel knew that. But sometimes he just couldn’t help himself. And this girl, whoever she was, was quite entertaining. He found himself amused by her--more than he figured he’d be just sitting in the staff lounge with the other dullards. Most people working at the prison seemed to hate the people they guarded. Him? He loved them! They were always so passionate and full of life--though sometimes that wasn’t a good thing.

Dragging a chair in front of her cell, he placed it across from her. “Doesn’t smell that bad,” he said as he sat down and leaned the chair back, balancing on the two hind legs until it hit the wall. Nathan took the bag he’d been carrying in his hands and opened it up. He frowned slightly when there wasn’t any steam to greet him. Reaching in he took another fry and popped it into his mouth. Cold.

“Damn,” he said, shaking his head sadly. Well he’d still eat them because of the seasonings and it would always be better than the crap they served in the cafeteria. Reaching in for the cheese burger he unwrapped it, taking a huge bite. Mustard and ketchup dripped down his face as he chewed his food. His eyes went over to check the clock hanging above the entrance way. There was still a bit of time on his lunch break, but not really much. All he could really do was eat and get back to work.

He wiped his mouth with his hand, wiping on his pants, before he took another bite. “So, Barbie,” she said, his mouth completely full of food. “What’d you do to get yourself locked up in here?”

Bloody stupid guard just didn't know when to quit, why couldn't he just bugger on off to eat that take-away food and stop taunting her with it. She hadn't even had lunch, she had been hiding for that part of the day which she was confused as to why the guards hadn't realized she was missing sooner but what the hell did she care, she had been off scot free until this little shit had turned up and messed everything up. Now she was back here wishing she was back in that boiler room calming down and doing whatever the hell she wanted because it wasn't like she was going to get out any time soon, he had oh so nicely stated that just before he threw her back in here and made mooney eyes at her.

She rolled her eyes when he mentioned it not smelling too bad, he didn't know because he got to go home to a nice warm bed at night "Try sleeping here pretty boy." she decided the flirty little nicknames where going to have to make an appearance so there they where, she was bored and he would have to suffice as a sort of entertainment for her. At least it made a little different to the normally boring as hell routine of the day that she despised so much.

She gave him a 'well wouldn't you like to know' look with her eyebrows and the little cocky tilt of her head when he asked what the hell she managed to do to get herself in here, which had been nothing thanks to that damn son of a bitch that she would skin alive soon as she got out, the nickname was starting to irritate her again though, she didn't let it through this time however "Still not Barbie." she commented "And I guess I could tell you..." she wandered off her speech for a moment giving him a little eye movement "For a few of them." she said, looking down to the brown paper bag where she knew the chips where, rolling her finger around in his direction "Whatcha say handsome?" she said with a teasing tone.

Nathaniel chuckled at her response, but he didn’t say anything. The staff had the option of living at the prison in the staff quarters and he was one of those people. It was a small room, not much unlike this cell here--at least his was. But he really didn’t need much. As long as he had his alcohol and was able to get a woman or two (which he’d take to either a hotel or end up going back to their place), he was pretty contented in life. At least that’s what he liked to believe.

Often the man wished for more than just living and working at the prison. He wanted to be somebody. After years of just barely getting by though he had a feeling that he’d be stuck in this dead in job forever. While he often pretended that it didn’t phase him, it did. Nathaniel just put on a smile and bit through it though.

He continued to eat his food as he waited for her story. Taking out his flash he took another drink to wash it down with. “You look like a Barbie to me,” he told her, his green eyes flickering up to look at her as he said it to see her reaction.

When she considered telling him her story, Nathaniel cocked an eyebrow at her and waited to see what she wanted in return. His eyes moved to his fries before looking back up at her. Oh she was certainly playing him now--and he had to admit that he enjoyed it. He certainly didn’t mind having a little fun with the prisoners--especially if they were as cute as Barbie here was--or whatever her real name since he still hadn’t asked.

Setting the chair back down he stood up, walking over to the bars with the fries in his hands. “You think I’m handsome, eh?” he asked with a goofy grin. “Well I’d say to that that you’re kind of cute yourself,” he informed her. Taking a handful of fries out of the container he popped them in his mouth and shook his head. With his mouth halfway full, he told her, “But you ain’t gettin’ any of my fries.”

Well, at least she had given him something to chuckle about, she hadn't even gotten the good stuff out yet, not even the stuff that could make the owner of this place's toes curl and end up throwing up in the toilet like a prissy little bitch, some of her humor was rather violent and crude, then again this was the queen bitch, she didn't do it to half measures. Not by a long shot "Find that funny darlin'?" she asked with a smirk "I got a hell of a lot better than that waiting up here for yah If yah want." she said again with a teasing tone.

She rolled her eyes once again when he mentioned her looking like barbie, having blonde hair did not mean that she looked the slightest like barbie, she wasn't half as fake as a barbie anyway! "I'm not fake enough." she commented "Actually, nothing about me is fake." she shrugged, knowing half the girls in here had one thing or the other done while they had still been on the outside living it up, how that must have come crashing down on them like a ton of bricks, she smirked at the thought of it, because that was plainly how her mind functioned. She was a sadistic bitch and she didn't even care all that much, life is life, it will go on no matter what.

At least he looked like he was considering it, maybe he would give her one or two before taunting her for the rest, she didn't really care all that much because by now she was starving and it was quite a few hours till the next meal time, she really didn't want to be empty stomached until then. That didn't mean however that she would beg him for anything. Even at Motoke's lowest she'd never beg, she was too much of a stuck up, hard ass girl for that, always thinking that she needed to prove herself in some way or another, then again with her track record she always looked like she had proved something, she was a royal pain in the ass to the coppers... even the one she dated apparently.

She leaned against the metal door, watching out of the window like thing in the center where the two of them could see each other, he came sauntering over like a little bit of a fool although she guessed he was just trying to make an impression on her after she called him handsome "Maybe..." she taunted with a smirk and waited for his reply. It was not one that she had hoped for and it put a scowl across her face once again although she tried not to loose it like she usually did, instead she tried playing it smart "Fine, no fries no story." she shrugged trying to act as though she didn't care although at that exact second her stomach let out an almighty rumble for food. Damn.

Nathaniel would have just let it go and dropped it. Her story really didn’t matter to them all that much and if he really wanted it he knew he could have always chat someone up and take a peek at her file--though that was a lot of work that he didn’t really care to do. The man would have just gone back to his seat, sat down, and finished his meal, but the sound of her empty stomach made him stop.

“I shouldn’t let you have anything,” he told her seriously, but at the same time he didn’t want to be a cruel guy. Though she tried to act like it was no big deal her body was telling him otherwise. Although she may have been a prisoner, he didn’t feel that she needed to be tortured and he didn’t want to be the one to do it. Two wrongs didn’t make a right in his opinion. People may have thought he was an ass (and maybe he was), but he tried hard not to be.

With a sigh he reached out and handed her the container, still halfway full, through the bars. “Here,” he said as he gave them to her. “Don’t tell me you’re not fake, Barbie,” he said. “That whole attitude you have? Like you don’t give a shit when you obviously do? That’s pretty fake if you ask me. Just like every other person in here.”

Walking back over to his chair he sat down to finish his burger. He looked over at the clock to see he only had a little time left. “Five minutes and I gotta go clock back in. A deal’s a deal so make it quick,” he said, taking another bite from his burger.

She couldn't even look up at him when her stomach decided it wanted to make its presence known, she looked to the cell floor embarisingly and shuffled her foot along the ground trying to make out as though it was nothing. Although he seemed to stop his onslaught of sarcaric comments and witty remarks and actually looked a little guilty, maybe the pity appeal worked better than the sneaky hard ass did, usually it was the other way around but maybe this guy just had a soft spot. She had to smirk a little when he told her that he shouldn't be giving her anything, it's not like she could kill herself on a fry anyway was it? "Yah ain't supposed to be pulling Prince Charming eyes at me as yah thrown me down on to a bed either." she said with a smirk. Finally being able to look up at him again.

She was quite surprised when he actually handed over the carton of fries to her, she expected him to laugh and walk away but she dare not shove them away, besides she was getting more than what she had even first hoped for "Thanks..." she muttered quietly under her breath as she took the carton, almost slowly like she was waiting for something bad to happen if she actually took it off him. Once she had it in her hands in front of her she began to dig in, the first few fried went down in seconds although she slowed off so she didn't look like a pig so much. Damn these where good what she wouldn't give for them to be never ending right now.

He had her frozen when he mentioned her attitude being fake, he had caught her with that one but it wasn't like she wanted to be that way. She just wanted to protect herself from the other, bigger better and scarier people in this place that could quite easily get around the guards if they wanted something "You don't understand... If I'm not like this then I'm just gonna be the little bitch who can't look after herself... You might think you know everything that goes on in this prison but you really don't..." she didn't really know why she was trusting him with this sort of knowledge but he seemed to be able to get in to her head as such "Besides what do you care you're not a shrink." she muttered, trying to get off the conversation.

She sighed when he asked for the story, she knew it was gonna come anyway he had delivered on what she wanted out of him so she began "In basic, my cop boyfriend got angry when I threatened to dob him in for being dirty. He beats be to a bloody pulp and calls it self defence cause I 'came at him with a knife threatening to kill him' pfft. I had no money for a lawyer and the court would rather believe a copper than a girl with a violence and disruption record. So bam here I am." she bit in to another fry when she had finished, eyeing him up to see his reaction "Bet yah don't believe me, wouldnt be a first."
