Veronica takes a certain pride in her appearance, something she's always tried to maintain since . . . forever, practically. She avoids such things as cigarettes and alcohol for fear of losing control or getting premature wrinkles, and the like. She has smooth, healthy skin with a slight tan, and she likes it just the way it is. While she does favour comfort and quality over what others would rather her wear, she does in fact conform when it's necessary -- like, for instance, when she's on-duty at the prison. As such, on-duty, Veronica wears a solid mixture of lengthy skirts/dresses, suits, and (at the very least) jeans. Her hair is very rarely tired up, though, and also tends to be wavy rather than straight, but it's only about shoulder length, so management wouldn't be too difficult if for some reason it was desired. Her eyes are somewhat oval-shaped, and they contain a certain spark to them, as if to say, "Mess with me, I dare you"; rarely does she smile genuinely, but her false smiles can still be very convincing, considering her years of practice.

P E R S O N A L I T Y:
Straightforward and tactical -- this consumes most of Veronica's personality. Though she hasn't always been this way, she puts her job and duties before everything else, and that sometimes means she rushes situations or cuts corners to get to the end. Occasionally, like every human, she makes mistakes, though she does try and think through what she does beforehand. In all actuality, she does rather adore power and money, and as such, she knows that sometimes cutting corners isn't a very viable solution to every situation. If you actually got to know her, you would find that she would be just as outgoing and fun-loving as plenty of other people out there. She recluses herself from social events and the like because of her preoccupation with being hurt, even if unintentionally, so she often seems very anti-social when it comes to enjoying other people. In other words, her job is simply a mask to her true personality.

H I S T O R Y:
The Winters and Evans families were very ordinary, as far as life and occupation went. Most of the Winters men had worked on farms or in factories, and plenty of the time, the women were house wives. In the Evans family, the women took a more modern approach at occupations, though they never worked beyond supermarkets. While her mother cared for her and encouraged her to do well in school, Veronica still felt pressured by her father. It wasn't as though she felt ignored or unloved, but her father was very difficult to satisfy; rarely would he acknowledge her good grades, awards, extracurricular achievements, et cetera, and so the girl eventually detached herself from her father. In a sense, she formed a completely new world for herself. Her twin brother was slightly less absorbed in his school studies than herself, instead focusing on helping his father and being the "perfect son," though school work still came easily to him. Such was her Georgian childhood.
Veronica and her twin brother became the first generation of either of the two families to actually pursue something major in college: he chose medicine, and she chose psychology. Her mother had completed college and received a simple degree in business, but she never went further with either her studies or her practice. In a sense, Veronica was now free from her father's pressures (though of course she still visited on holidays), and she took her college work seriously. She was a free spirit, though, and it was only a matter of time before she got romantically involved with someone else. Frédérik Alexander Alice was studying medicine at the same university as Vernoica, but they met through a party -- and no, they didn't get drunk, run off to Vegas, get married, and have a child. In fact, neither of them had a drink, the romantic process took several months, and they were merely engaged. A few months passed since their engagement, and only a few days before the wedding was set to take place, misfortune struck: Frédérik had been killed in an automobile incident. Needless to say, Veronica was in a state of grief and depression for several days afterward, and while she already had the grades in school to make it through the year, her marks and overall performance dropped quite a bit, ruining her chances of being top of her class.
After graduating college, she was employed as a student counselor at an high school, but the job only lasted for a few months. She was far too out-of-control to actually maintain her own well-being, and she actually went so far as to make her students feel worse, rather than better. She was fired from the school, and she admitted herself into a psychiatric hospital without a word to anyone -- friends, family, or otherwise. Veronica spent six months there before leaving, and since, she has been through college to further her education. She now works at the prison, and while she's a brand new to the institution, she does plan on kicking some psychological butt.
